Speedplay Needle Bearing

I have been having problems with my Speedplay Zeros in the last few weeks. The non drive side pedal seased up and stopped spinning altogether. I do greese them every 2 months or so but it took a lot of greese to get it back working again. It was fine for the last few rides but as I had ordered the replacement bearings and decided to put them in this evening. All was going well till i discovered that the problem was actually that the needle bearings were busted altogether. They literally fell out when I removed the main body of the pedal.
I have ordered the replacement Needle bearing (HK1010) but I was wondering if I would do any damage to the pedal tomorrow on my sunday spin? Everything is well greesed and spinning ok.
What are your thoughts?
Paul

One of those may work out ok may not situations. Some good insights to be had here. http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/ind ... opic=65315 works for some but not for others you do run the risk of trashing the spindle if all bearings are not functioning as they should. New official spindles are silly prices.0
