Got a PX nano frame and forks, was thinking of getting rid of most of the graphics, stealth it up a bit. Dont want to spend loads of cash doing it, was thinking of using a paint pen, anyone done this or got a better idea. Ta

Sounds like a bad idea, either do a full respray or leave it, a paint pen sound like a bodge to me!

using a paint pen will make it look like you've been over it with a paint pen - which is fine if that's the look you're after....

Don't use a paint pen, try Smoothrite.

  • I reckon you should go with the paint pen, and maybe afterwards a peg holding a playing card in the rear spokes to give it that cool motorbike sound. :D

Get some stickers/vinyl to cover what you don't like. Or maybe even these

To me it sounds like you bought a Planet X and don't want to be seen riding it ;)

  • Do it properly if you do do it, years ago I worked in a band the drummer who was a bit of a cock came to a gig one night announcing he'd put the name of the band on his bass drum, when he got the drum out he'd done it with Tip-Ex it looked so crap, he hadn't done it staight and it looked like cottage cheese as he'd gone over it a few times

Not quite the same but another time I was in a VW club and a guy came to a club meet saying he'd had a tattoo done on his back. A big VW sign and he'd asked the tattooist to type this round the logo (passing him a piece of paper with the drawing on it)........... he took his shirt of and we all fell about the place laughing, instead of saying "Living The Legend" the guy had tattoo'd "Living The Leggend".......as per piece of paper
  • Why do it anyway? Whats so bad about the graphics?
  • I'd go for this look if I were you. Class.

No mate, love my px bikes, got a sl pro for winter, a sl pro for spring/autum, and now got this Nano for summer/ hillclimb bike. Just sold my old Giant tcr, which was getting a bit old, it was matt carbon with not to many graphics, all the kit on it zipp 303 and easton bars and post were all sticker free, want to keep the look. Agree think paint pen would be a bit crappy, going to see if i can make a stencil and spray the writing matt black, still visable but not to bling.

on a serious note, there are a few custom vinyl places out there that might be able to help if you just wamt to matt-effect the writing
