So help please.

A decent LBS should be able to fit a replacement - drill out old one and insert new rivet-bush, they are the same as bottle cage mounting bosses.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

So a fairly simple (cheap) fix then? Just took a photo of the damaged bit
So thats a rivnut?0 -
Check it isn't the screw, I had something similar putting a computer together, motherboard standoff into case, standoff was spinning. Tried another motherboard standoff and tightened downSay... That's a nice bike..

Tried two different screws. Starts gripping at the very end of the thread, so pretty certain its the rivnut. Is it a bog standerd the job for a bike shop or do i need to find someone with a beard?0

Probably not Halfords or a chainstore...worth calling in advance to know if they know what you're talking about. One possible problem is that because the fork legs are closed, there's little chance of removing the remnants of the old rivet-bush and you may have to live with a rattle?Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Think abit of time and patience with a magnet would be able to fish some of it out? assuming its magnetic.0

*edit...I can't see the photo due to my server but*
if it is a standard mount, try a longer bolt with a nylock nut on the end - not as pretty but just as effective.
edit again! just managed to look at the photo....ignore my post! :oops:0 -

Nah - if you can't live the rattle pour some glue down there, shake fork leg until the bit of metal settles in the glue, leave to set. Job jobbed.
Then again, I have the remnants of a bottle cage boss in my frame and the only time I hear it is when picking the bike up to put it back on the wall after a ride, so its not a really a biggie.0 -
I'd be tempted to dip the bolt threads in some Araldite, screw in and leave to set.0
