Just got myself a set of these from the LBS, as the GP4000's have probably seen better days. Anyone used both and could give a comparison. I was told the Panaracer A are quite pun****** resistant. Been very pleased with the GP4000's but got a good deal on the Panaracer A, so thought I'd give them a go.

Cheers.

Looks like this could be a case of ' Be The First To Write A Review'.

Went out this morning for a few laps of Richmond Park (65k in total) on the panaracer A's. First impressions were that they felt a bit sluggish compared to the GP4000's. As the Panaracer A's are supposed to be an all rounder I was not expecting race tyres, so was not too bothered about the weightier feel if it meant less chance of a p******e. Do not want to be pulling up for any reason on a freezing cold day like today.

On the plus side, they really do feel superbly gripped to the road. Even with the potential for ice today, I felt really confident in them. Apparantly they are designed in such a way that they are slightly V shaped. The idea being that when you lean into bends and turns, more tyre is touching the road. This did appear to be the case as I did not hold back on the couple of short downhill sections of RP, and they seemed firm and assured.

So I would say if you can get a set of these for a good few quid cheaper than the GP4000's then they are worth a go. A really good all rounder. Hope this helps.
