I've got the Holux GPSport 260 Pro Plus with the ANT+ capability and their cadence sensor and HRM.

I've had it a couple of weeks and so far I'm very pleased with it. The software that comes with it is a bit clunky but it does the job.
I've tried following a route that I created on my PC to test that capability and it seemed to work OK.
I haven't got any experience of the Garmin so can't compare but to get the GPS plus the cadence sensor and HRM and two bike mounts for £139.95 seemed pretty good value.

  • Theres something Ive been wanting to know about these, I have no experience using gps computers, so please forgive me if I seem a bit stupid
Ive been thinking of getting one (Garmin, Bryton or Holux) for the spring/summer, to go on my best bike, but what I want to know and I can't seem to find out in the descriptions is, do they record your route so you can just upload it to for example Map My Ride?
Currently any new route I ride I have to manually map out and store it, if I could bypass this process and just hook up my computer and upload the data then that would save quite a bit of hassle, if not then they seem a bit pointless.
    Thanks.

    With the Holux....
The short answer is yes. You download your ride into the Holux provided software (EZTour Plus) which provides you with analysis of your ride - speed, distance, elevation, gradient etc and if you have the Pro ANT+ model it also analysis cadence and heart rate. Once the ride is in EZTour Plus you can export it as a .gpx file which you can then upload into sites like MapmyRide.
Additionally, you can do theh reverse and create a ride in Holux's EZTour PLanner software (provided) and upload that into the Holux gps and this will provide you a basic route guide. I don't find the EZTour Planner very easy to use and when I wanted to pre-plan a route I created in MapmyRide and uploaded the resulting file into the holux.
