Wow, wow, wow. Greipel looks heavyweight in that photo with the kit, glasses and helmet. Looks in great shape too. Going to look for a hi-res of that.

I saw something on twitter but cant see it any more about Griepel setting a new max power the other day. I think off the top of my head it was in the 1850 region..

Seeing that makes me think Griepel will be playing the role of Ivan Drago to Cavendish's Rocky Balboa this year.
@doobz, I think innerring mentioned that? Big numbers and big legs.

It was Adam Hansen where I saw it...
Watch out world. @AndreGreipel from @Lotto_Belisol pumped out new record on his @Ridley_Bikes 1940watts... Dam!!!

  • Hmmm, I guess Cav would have been on the Lotto train tbh. Sky must have pre-planned that move before the last corner but just ballsed it up. Lucky to all stay upright IMHO.

Were they intending that as a leadout train though or were they just looking to get their man into a good position on the Lotto train? Weren't Green Edge in the race as I would have expected them to be trying to show at the front.

It was messy, but they got EBH into a half decent position. It's not really a surprise that EBH couldn't beat Griepel in a straight up sprint either.

Did you see how Sky train left EBH 3m clear of the man in front and EBH had to make up the gap...then sprint. Good effort by him to come 2nd.

Why is Greipel still wearing a powerband?

I thought he was a good bloke.
