So who do we think this is going to suit.... Vuelta a Espana 2012 route analysis: Seven mountain top finishes + three uphill stages = climbing heaven :?:0 -
Heavyweight. Going to suit some nice shows of Rodriguez and Contador battles. A few novelties in there.Contador is the Greatest0

Wow, summit finish overkill? A finish on Ancares is great though.
And leaving out the South will spare us most of the straight flat roads through empty dusty landscapes0 -
a great route. Lets hope it gets the riders to make it a great race0

Quite weird route
I like Pamplona TTT, Jaca, Ancares, Cuitu Negru and Bola del Mundo Stages... but not enoght ITTIf you like Flandes, Roubaix or Eroica, you would like GP Canal de Castilla, www.gpcanaldecastilla.com0 -
I like this route a lot. Can't wait for Vuelta time, as I have a feeling the TdF is going to disappoint this year.0

Hmmm there's going to be some serious 'amnesty days' as a result of this route. Some of those days will come on mountain top finishes. Expect some bizarre stage winners, lack of willingness to chase breaks, and an almighty waiting game of 'who will crack first', unless someone takes it by the horns and by doing so wins it or knocks themselves out of contention.
I think it'll be a case of who has the least severe of 'off-day(s)' because every contender will have an off-day with this route - a la Giro 2011.0 -
It has a Schleck victory written all over it, if only they had some ambition to win grand tours, not just the Tour De France.
It'll be interesting to see if Basso gives it a crack.0 -

A process of who cracks the least?
They are the best kind!0 -
Really?
I find that nothing really happens because they're all too paranoid about cracking. Makes for very boring racing. Sort of like this year's Giro if you ignore Contador. Scarponi and Nibali looked at each other all race waiting for the other to crack. Proper ZZZzzzz fest.
The best racing tends to come when someone has to make an effort to go out and win it. It's quickly becoming an over-used example but think Andy Schleck at this years Tour.0 -
Hmmm, interesting - maybe they should have either moved the ITT to later on in the race, or have another one in the final week. All Road/ Gravel: tbcWinter: tbcMTB: tbcRoad: tbc"Look at the time...." "he's fallen like an old lady on a cruise ship..."0
