alrite folks, been getting a creaking sound from my rear shock on my last few runs, and i have eliminated it down to the shock mounting bushes. there is no play in them and they are still tight to the mounting bolts and the shock itself.
will these need replacing or can i get away with a little drop of 3 in 1 oil to quell the noise?
cheers.

    Strip clean an inspect.

  • yep i striped it all down, cleaned it, checked for wear. no visible sings of wear. put it all back together and there was no sound, within 10 mins the creaking was back and louder .lol. as far as i can tell the bushes need a little lube to help prevent wear (noise) as i think the bushes are rubbing against the shock or pivot arms (it's an 05 faith 3) i think it's most likly the latter.
unless someone sugests otherwise i will slacken everything off and put a drop or two of 3 in 1 in. will quiet it up at least. it's the only thing i can think of.
    thanks for any advice.
