static fork length

Hello all.
I'm in the market for a fork for my Ellsworth Specialist which I'm building up. I have another post in a different part of the forum asking for suggestions however I've been in touch with Ellsworth who mentioned that regardless of the fork travel the bike was designed with a static fork length of 19.5" in mind.
How can I find this information out without measuring the fork length between the crown and the centre of the axle?
Thanks

Have a look on the makers web sites in the tec section. Also there are many listed in the FAQs."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

thanks very much:)
found the FAQ list.
However on manufacturers website, namely Fox and Rockshox, I haven't yet come across this info. I think i'll just e-mail the relevant manufacturer once I've decided on a number of possible options.0 -
Wel, let's work this backwards - any forks in mind?0

To be honest I've not yet come to a decision as I'm still looking into what's suitable. Been out of the MTB world for 9 or so years so I'm just playing catch up at the moment.
What I do know however is that whatever fork I decided to go with (or even look into) should fall into the fallowing requirements:
*static fork length of circa 495mm
*120-140mm of travel
*designed with more aggressive trail riding in mind
*simple build construction
*weight (ideally I'l like to have as light a bike as possible without sacrificing strength)
*ideally 08/09 models onwards
*not fussed if it 2nd hand if the price is right0 -
You might get a 120mm fork at 495, but I doubt a 140mm.
I'd look at the Rockshox Reba 120mm:

Is light, relatively tough, performs very well and has a crown to axle of 493mm.0 -
thanks for the reply supersonic.
I'll add this to the list is ones to check out. If anything it'll be good to have a starting reference as to which I can gauge any other possibilities.0
