Orange Five with a 150 fork. Your experience?

Hello,
Quick query. Is anyone out there running a Five with 150mm forks instead of 140mm? if so, whats your thoughts on this?
I'm thinking of buying Five frame and hanging all my bits off my Zesty on it. I swapped out the fork on the Zesty to a Rockshox revelation. The change from 140 to 150mm on the zesty seemed to be all good (slackened things up a bit) so I hope it will be the same story with a Five.
Thanks for helping. Matt

Nowt really wrong with the Zesty. I have loved mine. Had it two years now and time for a change. I really fancy the simplicity of the Five. Simple as that really. Plus, god knows how many satisfied five owners surly cant be wrong! (Takes cover himself!)0

Test one first - the suspension is indeed very simple and will feel different from the zesty.0

1) Orange fives are the bestest bikes ever and you shouldn't say bad things about them. MBR says so
2) I've seen a few cracked this year too, but to be fair on Orange, the people I know who's frames did crack managed to get them replaced very quickly and easily. Then again with so many of them about (see point 1 for the reason why) there are bound to be a few faulty.0 -
Cracked Fives? I'd have to agree with Angry Bird here. It's a numbers thing. A certain percentage of everything will break.

I run 140 forks on my 5 - it can 'apparently' run 150, but as it's only a 14" frame I think that would be ridiculous - but Notax has 150 on his and is really pleased with it.
And no, neither frame has crackedLife is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away....

I run a Revelation 120-150mm U turn on my 5. Usually run at 140mm but use 150mm for steeper downhill runs and the slacker angle, longer travel feels less twitchy and give me more confidence . Feels a little front end light at 150mm climbing for me but it all depends on your riding style, amount of sag etc etc.
I love the simplicity of the single pivot design and really don't understand all the haters. All bikes have their plus and minus points eg a few Lapierre bikes have cracking issues and dodgy BB30.0 -

Don't get me wrong, I don't "hate" them, but to follow on from your comment... at least Lapierre's don't look like they've been cobbled together with all the left overs out of the scrap metal bin.

at least snapierre sorted the cracking issues out.. and i guess they will sort the bb30 thing out to..really don't understand all the haters

Don't think it's got as much to do with the bikes (although a bit overpriced) as the owners on some fora who think they are gods gift to bikers, so they get a bit of stick here - bit of a forum thing.
