I need to get a small lock to put on bike, when stopped at a cafe. It's just to stop the opportunist thief and needs to be uber small to carry on the bike.

fits in a pocket...

...but you need to keep within easy range of the bike, because it can be cut fast, probably best if you can wrap it around things to delay a ride-away for a few extra seconds
there are similar locks designed for laptops, luggage etc. that also have an audible alarmmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
I got a similar one to above off Ebay - they are often sold as laptop locks. None on ebay at the moment but...

These ones are also good if you are still looking:
Kryptonite Keeper combination
Quite a bit lighter and cheaper too (only £6 at Ribble). Won't stop the serious thief but will stop someone just jumping on your bike and riding off. The other top tip is always leave your bike in top gear; the scrotes won't be able to turn the pedal and probably won't know how to change gear on a road bike, giving you a chance to catch them.0
