A Classification of Cyclists of Note & Notoriety... a unique illustration categorizing a selection of noteworthy cyclists through the history of the sport.
Professionals, amateurs, heroes, cheats. Hard men, climbers, pioneers, legends.
Road racers, track cyclists, cyclocrossers and mountain bikers - they're all here.

  • Pretty cool I agree. Likely done by someone outside of the EU. Why do Aussies get their cog and how come Alberto is not in legend category. Also I have only heard of one prodigy! Too vast to cover all ppl in all categories but neat nonetheless.
    Contador is the Greatest
  • Pretty good but done by someone with only a very recent knowledge of cycling and Dave Millar anti-doping - have a day off.

Another good cycling poster in a similar vein is this one:

That's really cool, I love that. Yeh the one I posted does have a flaw or two in it, still, a labour of love and they look great.

Alberto is a notable climber 8)

Choppy Warburton, glad he got a mention
  • I'm surprised Contador isn't in the legends.

I like that they have Sheldon Brown in the RIP category. And honourable mention for Steve Peat in the 'descenders'. NIce work.

NO, they are not "ALL HERE"

You would need so many lines that would turn the diagram black between the cogs.
So why select only a few.

I've actually bought a print of this and intend to frame it and put it up in the dining room of my new house that I complete on tomorrow :).

You could argue about missing cyclists, and people who should have been attached to different cogs, but I think it's a nice item, and a good talking point.

Favourites for me were Sheldon Brown on RIP, and Beryl Burton on the World Champions cog B)
