I want to run a hub gear (Alfine or Nexus or other) with a belt drive and a hub brake, is this possible? If necessary I'll go for a disc but I want the neatest looking set up possible.
Any help would be gratefully accepted.

    yes it is.

you may have to have the wheels built to order.

    Thanks for that!
They'll definitely be hand built, especially because they are 20"! I now need to find a chainset and decide on the number of teeth front and rear.

Presume your planned frame is suitably modified with a split rear drop-out or chainstay to allow you to fit a belt-drive? I would love to try a belt-drive but the prohibitive cost of after-market parts puts me off.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

That's OK, I'm designing the frame and it doesn't have seat stays, just extra large chainstays.

Mmm i am wondering if you will get the "cogs" of the right size you want with the 20" wheels?

I found out that there's a Bernds with 8 speed Nexus, gates, dics's and 20" wheels so I'm hoping I'll be alright.
What I really need are some cool wheels.
