Hi all another noob here
I have a few questions about some bike choices and which have the best specs. i want the bike for xc and trails. ive bin looking at cube because a friend recommended them.the bike im looking at is at this link:
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Analog-Disc-Mountain-Bike-2012-Hardtail-Race-MTB_49411.htm
i was going to upgrade the forks to either
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Rockshox-Tora-TK-Mountain-Bike-Fork-2011_41142.htm
or
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Rockshox-Tora-302-Suspension-Fork-2010_31563.htm
one of my main queries is would that be a good option or should i go for something like this:
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Acid-Mountain-Bike-2012-Hardtail-Race-MTB_48269.htm
where i would be spending about the same amount of ££ on a complete bike.
All the bikes are cubes but im still open to other brand suggestions of similar price/spec (or better).
ive bin looking at the tredz.co.uk website mainly because of the finance deal. so if anything catches ur eyes please let me know.
Thanks in advance
Ben

I'd take a look at this, is a highly regarded and well reviewed bke, and has a Tora as standard:

Cheers supersonic.
Liking the look of the genesis. They had one in a shop near me aswell, but unfortunately it was the 17.5inch. On the plus side i know im after the 16inch frame. Think i'll do some shopping around to see whats about.
Thanks again0 -
I'd personally say that if you buy a new bike and then immediately buy a big upgrade like a fork then you bought the wrong bike in the first place.
Buy the right bike and upgrade the contact points if you have to upgrade anything - saddle, grips, pedals2011 Carrera Fury

I ride the core 30 with recons on it's a cracking bike getting on that after my Vulcan it just gave me so much more confidence. My only negative is the brakes that come as standered but I'm homing to up grade them in the near future. I found the mountain king tyres good in the dry never tested them in the wet cause some crack head nicked my bike and the insurance replacement came with x kings on which are horrible in the mud so there getting swapped after Xmas. But all in all the core is a great bike wouldn't swap mine for any other hardtailGenesis Core 30 2011

Gotta agree about immediate upgrades.
I was looking at the Analog but went for the Attention instead...then felt like I should have got the Acid! It's a slippery slope.
Spend the extra £200 on getting an Acid instead of the Analog and enjoy trouble free riding.0
