Either my google skills are failing, or there is only ONE women's-specific road shoe available with a Speedplay (four bolt) sole: the Lake CX401W (although the website text makes it sound like the speedplay sole is Mens version only...)

Bont and DMT make shoes with speedplay soles, but no women's versions.

Sidi, Giro, Specialized etc etc make women's versions but not with a speedplay sole!

Is the missus condemned to using adaptor plates and three-bolt soles?

Anyone know any other makes that do a Ladies/Women's shoe with a speedplay sole??

Adaptor plates add weight and a few mms of stack height.

As the missus needs new shoes, why not look for something that's designed for the cleats she uses?

Oddly Lake cycling don't have a "contact us" page on their website any more so I can't even ask them about their shoes.
  • The W in CX401W stands for wide fit, not Women's.

The importers are Moore Large - their website has a 'contact us' link

Thanks for the Importer info - I've mailed them.

But I'm pretty sure that this is wrong:

The main Lake website shows size ranges for Men and Women on all shoes with the W at the end of the name:
    like this http://www.lakecycling.com/cx401.html

And seems to use code "EE" for wide fitting even on shoes without a 'W' variant, like this : http://www.lakecycling.com/cx236.html
