Hi,

I'm learning more about setting up my mtb.
I'm looking to get some parts.
I'm looking for a new rear mech, and front mech.
I want the rear to go with my shimano sl m310 altus rapidfire 7 speed shifters

I found a few, but not sure what to go for.?

What is your bike? How does the rear derailer attach to the frame?

Hi,

It's an apollo xc se.
I like the frame, so i upgraded the brakes etc.
It uses a hanger for the mech

Most mechs use a hanger ;-)

But does yours allen bolt to the frame's hanger, or use something like this?

When you say does yours allen bolt to the frame's hanger. well the old mech bolts to the hanger useing an allen key bolt if that's what you mean..

Gotcha, as some Apollos use that design in my pic.

Right so any Shimano 7/8/9 speed rear mech will work. I'd get the Alivio:

The SLX and XT not worth the extra, spend the money elsewhere. If the front mech works, keep it, or replace with the same.

If is the same one as you have, yes. Look for: clamp size, cable entry (top bottom), and clamp position (high/low)

My one just says shimano. nothing else on it.. came with the bike.. the size is 31mm..

Might work.
