Help with a Thule roof bar

hi guys,
Can anyone help with this? I've just inherited a fairly old Thule roof bar which fits my bike fine, apart from the ratchet straps which are too short for my wheels. They're fairly thick rims but 2.4 tyres. Is there any way of getting extensions or longer ratchet straps to fit? At the mo i have to let the tyres down to get a fit which is just irritating!

contact any Thule dealer.
But first identify the rack you have."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Or just get a few toe clip straps. My LBS gave me a handful for nothing.I don't do smileys.
