Hi,
I bought a carrera TDF about two months ago and the brakes are terrible. I am looking to buy a new pair but don't want to spend to much.
Thanks Jack.

Why not try new brake pads? The ones fitted to most new bikes are poor. Swiss Stop or Coolstop could be your friends here. The older I get the faster I was0

Think i got some SRAM rivals for about that and they came with swissstop pads. Really good.0

Keep the pivots well greased and make sure you're using good pads. It's rare for the arms themselves to be responsible for poor performance.- - - - - - - - - -

try the pads first - alot cheaper and makes loads of difference.
Makes listed above are good - try the 'salmon' ones at this time of year - great in the wet2012 Scott Foil 10 (Shimano dura ace) - in progress
2011 Cervelo S2 (SRAM Red/Force)
2011 Cannondale Caad 10 (Shimano 105)

I have a Tdf Ltd Edition and it came with metal cartridge callipers fitted rather than standard rubber pads, which are actually quite decent for a road bike in that price bracket. If they are just crap in the rain, well thats a different kettle, because all bike brakes are crap in the rain.0
