Mavic Espoir

I'm in the marker for a warm softshell for the winter (unfortunately only a matter of time now!), and like the look of the Mavic Espoir. I've yet to try the Mavic clothing range and have read nothing but good reports on them (with the exception of the odd fiddly zip). Can aybody recommend me a jacket/softshell in a similar price range or have any experience of the Mavic Espoir?

Don't you mean this one

Yes, that's the one.
I'm now aware of an Espoir rain jacket, and the Espoir Thermo softshell, just to confuse matters!0 -
I'd imagine it's a cut down Echappee, a few less venting zips.
But if it's anywhere near as good then it will be excellent. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Facebook? No. Just say no.0 -
Just be careful about sizing.
I find the Mavic stuff well-made but it comes up a bit shorter than other brands.
That leaves me with a choice of jersey/jacket that has a good athletic fit but rides up my back or one that covers my ar*e but flaps about like a tent.0 -
If you've got a mate in the USA then this Mavic Equipe jacket is a real bargain (they can't post Mavic stuff to the UK though unfortunately).More problems but still living....0

out of interest what is the climb in the background on the mavic site?
i've not got this jacket but all my other mevis kit is really good, the fit is sport on for me."Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0 -
Being 6ft 2" but somewhat slim, I've always found sizing a tricky matter! No mates in the USA, so the good deal above is out of question. I believe the climb in the background is somewhere in the Dolomites... looks stunning.0

I think the climb is the Stelvio from the north side, (i.e.not the Bormio side). Looks absolutely amazing.0
