Hi
I have a 1993 kona kilauea, a hardtail which is nice and light and a great ride on forest roads where i do most riding.
However been doing some more technical riding recently and an seriously wondering about front suspension.
So far i have been told it needs to be a short travel shock so as to not screw up the head angle and mess with the steering which is nice and responsive.
Any advice on suitable forks to go for, i think the steerer is 1 1/8" and about 170m (have not dissasmbled and measured yet) and threaded. Would other info help.
Cheers

first off well done on owning my Favorite bike! should never of sold mine.
you will have to go for a fork with a maximum of 80mm travel and also need to measure the total fork length to make sure you don't slacked the head angle to much.
You would be best of hunting ebay for something from before 2000, but be aware that also of the older forks don't really work to well. The pace rc 36 forks were pretty good

If 1 1/8th, consider replacing the headset and stem too - will open up more threadless forks.0

Worth checking on www.retrobike.co.uk
Probably get a more honest description of condition than Ebay, and most old forks are trashed.I don't do smileys.
