Thinking of upgrading my bar and stem and have the following in mind.
3T Ergonova Ltd Handlebar
3T ARX Ltd Carbon Oversized Road Stem (118g for 110mm)
However the stem is pretty expensive at around £175, there is an alternative which is...
3T ARX Pro Alloy Oversized Road Stem (150g for 120mm)
This one is much less expensive at around £35, there seems an awful lot of money difference for little weight gain.
All experience and advice would be greatly received please.
Thanks,
Ian

I would just go for the alloy one which is fine. I have this and the alloy bars, nice stuff .....0

You pay a lot more for the carbon fibre - but I think the alloy is absolutely fine.0

Alloy is good enough for Thor, and me.0

I think the claimed weight for the alloy Pro model is now 135g. The alloy team is 120g with titanium bolts and if you don't like the red stripe a black on black colour scheme is due for 2012

I'm not sure when they are out in the UK but a couple of places are listing them on their websites - see sigmasport.co.uk and brookscycles.co.uk0

Have a look at the specialized shallow bar, similar to 3T, not flared but more comfortable on the hoods.0
