so after posting a thread on here i sort of decided on a voodoo hoodoo however the price drop of last years bikes are coming down the specialized rockhopper looks good its 100 pound more however is that extra 100 pound justified or do you get better equipment on the voodoo.
i am trying to look past the whole brand thing as i want value and the best for my money

The Hopper is lighter, but is more XC focused. The Hoodoo gets a longer travel fork and a sturdier build - and weighs more for it.0
