Torque calibration question

I have a Pro torque wrench, I left it set to 6n for a good month or two, very annoyed with myself as I guess I now need to get it recalibrated.
So my question is, I assume that the worst outcome of leaving it not set at 0 as recommended is that the wrench will always under tighten and not over tighten until recalibrated?
