Assos 851 Airbjack ltd edition...

Had an 851 AIrbjack in blue for a couple of faultless years, so decided to stick with them this season and bought the 851 Ltd Edition in flouro yellow...
Bad choice!... First ride out and the flouro yellow dye leaked all over the neck of my favourite white base layer, my wrists also turned bright yellow! Even after washing, it has happened on about 5 occassions...
I'd have thought better of Assos kit, really wasn't expecting the colour to leak.
Oh well, last Assos purchase.

Take it back and get a refund, that clearly isn't fir for purpose, get them to replace any kit it's damaged in the process!0

I found the leaked fluoro colour washed out of my white baselayer. I did contact Assos about this but they wanted the jacket back to Switzerland for "testing and inspection". I can't honestly believe they don't know about this issue. The colour loss does settle down but the jacket does also look faded as a result.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Send it to them in Switzerland, they are very good at returns and problems.0

Can't be *rsed with sending it to Switzerland... I'll just avoid spending any more cash with them!
I did email Cycle Surgery about this issue, so will see if they want to do anything to maintain custom...Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

It's roughly the same hassle as sending it back to anywhere in the UK.
Every manufacturer has problems, it's how they deal with them that can set them apart, but only if they have the chance.0 -

I was pretty underwhelmed by Assos when I contacted them about the issue with mine. They started by claiming I'd not followed the cleaning instructions. I did point out though that the colour loss was due to perspiration. Only after several emails backwards and forwards did they finally offer to take it back and look. I've read of others with he same issue on the same jacket. I've concluded hat I'm unlikely to get a better replacement back and will have to go through the colour running stage all over again so I've not bothered. The jacket works just as well it's just a fair bit duller than it was as new.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

Should you not be first taking the complaint to the retailer rather than the manufactuer? I always understood that faulty goods where the responsibility of the retailer to resolve.0
