Seen some strange designs, these have to top the list though....

Weird looking gearbox design:

We saw a Preston at Glentress on saturday, great to see one still in the wild, still looking like it was stuck halfway into transforming into a robot. I think the owner was quite surprised at all the appreciation it got.

I nearly bought one a while back, pretty decent (if old) spec ones go for around 350-500 beer tokens ont' eBay, I'm a sucker for bikes/kit that's a bit different, just want to see how they ride/work!

I very nearly went for a Whyte 46 instead of the Moment - that was ahead of its time.

I wonder if the PRST1 could keep up with modern forks if the front shock was swapped for a modern unit. If I remember rightly the wheel was allowed to move rearwards slightly to aid bump absorbtion without having to alter the headangle.

Can't find a picture of the old USE single sided, linkage suspension fork. But the bamboo bike, Honda G-Boxx and that matrix hardtail were all interesting in their own way.

Aah it's becuase I'd forgotten the 'Sub' monika - I'd searched USE single sided fork and got nothing but some leftys.

Orange emblazen their prototype bikes with Strange so for Northen Monkey, here is an Orange in the Strange bikes thread...

iirc everyone who rode it (not me) said it used to dive hideously under braking, not sure propedal or platform shocks could dial it out?

Interesting issue. Platform damping might help you know because they are designed to differentiate between 'spike' hits and 'slow compression' - Brake dive might be seen as a slow compression and not a spike and so resisted against. Entirely theoretical... Maybe TF could tune it to suit the characteristics of brake dive?
