Which Loctite?

Threw away my ages old bottle of Loctite a couple of months back and did not note down the number.

Which varient is it for general threads (jockey wheel bolts etc)?

    Loctite 221 Threadlocking - Low strength, low viscosity, small threads Threadlocker, Breakaway torque 8.5Nm

    Loctite 222 Threadlocking - Low strength, general purpose Threadlocker, Breakaway torque 6Nm

    Useful summary that.

    I use 243 on the bits that need it.
  • To note i regularly have the Loctite rep give presentations in our workshop, he states if it flows it works. Use by dates are just a legal requirement.

    Thats good to know, logical really as loctite only sets in the absence of air.
    You can usually find some big bottles (50ml) on ebay cheap because it's close to the use by date. 50ml bottle of 243 about £30 normally, on ebay close to use by date £10 for cyclist thats a life time supply :)
