DT Swiss 240 Rear Wheel Problem

Hi Guys,

I recently got a bargain on a DT Swiss 240 hub wheel on the bay for my mtb build, the only trouble is I didnt quite understand what the Maxle QR system was, i thought it was just a beefed up qr, but i was wrong, it has a 15mm QR Maxle. and therefore wont fit on my frame.

Does anyone know of any adapters for that hub?

oh okay, what would you recommend doing then, change the hub or just get a new wheel?

Just confirm exactly what hub and maxle you have? Rear wheel yeah?

Rear maxles are 10 and 12mm, front are 15 and 20mm.

thanks for the reply's and sorry for the delay of this post, ive gone and got those end caps for the 240 but they make the hub too wide and after searching the web im not the only one that problem. anyways so after abandoning that idea i wondered if there was any 15mm axles i could use instead of changing the hub in any way. anyone know?

sorry, after reading your post again im guessing it must be a 12mm, not 15mm, so im searching for a 12mm axle

It sounds like it, though it's not that clear from your posts tbh. But will it fit your frame? Normal frames are 10mm dropout.

Judging by the photo you posted, that hub shouldn't exist. It looks like someone has stuck 15mm end caps off a front hub onto a rear hub. The hub you have is only sold in quick release or 10mm through axle versions (pages 19 & 20 in the spec sheet above).

What you do with the wheel depends on what size dropouts your frame has. If it is normal 10mm, you can buy parts no. HWAXXX00S1528S and HWAXXX00S1043S which are the quick release adaptors or parts no. HWAXXX00S1803S and HWAXXX00S1830S for the 10mm through axle (plus a 135mm x 10mm axle of course).

12mm is available as an aftermarket option though. Well I say available, they're a bugger to find but they have existed.
