So i decided it was time to buy a new bike, test rode, considered and finally purchased a nice shiny new Trek fuel EX8. Saturday i thought good idea I'll go and do FTD & The monkey at cannock cause it's on my doorstep, all was going well bike was every bit as good as i thought it would be.
Got to one of the rock gardens, this is where it all starts to go a bit pear shaped  Down the rocks i go, mis judge the bottom terribly, front end locks up solid, bike stops but i dont  I can now tell all you boys & girls that pine trees don't move when shoulder barged by 14 stones of me, end result badly bruised shoulder, sore hip and a left shin with no skin on. (Must order some shin pads).
Finished the trail and cycle home, bath and chill out to lick my wounds, Sunday and shoulder is really stiff and painful.
Check in garage today before leaving for work, to see how the pride & joy is, It is sitting there with a flat back tyre. It wasn't flat when i got home on saturday.
Now is it me or is the bike trying to tell me to keep my distance :?: :?:

  • A new bike always requires a familiarisation process as one is used to the "old" bike's geometry and handling traits
I had a bit of a rough first ride on my all mountain bike as I'd ridden a whippet of a Kona XC for two years previously to buying the new bike. I was convinced my new bike was trying to kill me as I also had a good tumble at Swinley Forest and I was also gifted with a flat on my maiden ride too, it happens!

Get healed up and rest assured after a few more rides you'll feel right at home on the new bike.
