Another tyre choice thread

Does this seem like a capable tyre choice, i ride lee/cragg some local trails to me which can get quite muddy and now and then up in the peaks but some bridleway, i started off with fat alberts which came with the bike which seemed ok but has my riding progressed they did not seem to grip that well. They did slide a lot and when turned in it felt like the front end was trying to wash out, so i changed to conti mountain kings black chilli 2.4 front and back, the back have always been good but deffinatley did not grip on wet tarmac which i thought was strange, fairly steep climb though, any other surface has been ok but the front end deffinatley does not seem to grip as well turned over.
So thinking of giving maxxis a go, ardent 2.25 on the back and a 2.35 super tacky minion dh on the front, i have found if i concentrate on riding smoother i have a better ride and it does feel quicker and also more enjoyable. Thoughts anyone ?

No tyre is going to excel in all the conditions you list, especialy wet tarmac where a pure slick is best. I am not sure you'll see much of an improvement, as the Black Chilis are well known for their grip.0

I'm running Advantages at the moment in and around these trails Cragg, moors down to Norden, over Littleborough near Ogden etc. They seem to have a good compromise between grip and rolling resistance. Thing is the nature of these trails is diverse, well drained rocky on cragg and lee then a peat bog and everything in betweenTrek Remedy 7
