Chain problems

Hope someone can help with this.

I'm not the best mechanically, so please bare with me :P

I've just (with some help) built up my bike and have had the same problem three times in two days. The chain has jumped completely off the chainset, and become stuck fast between the small chainring and the frame! It took ages to remove and cost me a fair bit of paint from the frame too

Any ideas as to why this could be happening? (more the getting stuck part than the chain jumping) I've never experienced it before so thought it was a bit odd. I was thinking it could be something to do with the BB i've used.

Would really appreciate any help

Cheers all

Jamie

    incorrect front mech setting.

re read the info on park tools.

The sticking bit is just a factor of the chainring position. Not much you can do except stop the chain coming off.

Cheers Nicklouse, i'll have a look into that then. Appreciate the reply.

Thanks for the response cooldad, good to know its not a more costly problem I suppose. Will that be sorted by adjusting the front mech correctly as Nicklouse says?

    Thanks again
