I have a set of the old fire eye grill pedals, when I press down on the non drive side pedal there is a creak but if I don't pedal hard with that foot it stops.

they spin freely, I decided to do the old fill the axle cap full of grease till it is forced out of the other end. a load of black grease came out and the pedal no longer spins freely. is this ok? or have I used to much, I'm using the white TF2 lithium grease, the black grease must be the original stuff?

will this be ok? will the pedal free up with use if its ok I'll do the other side.

sounds fine just get them used.

  • used the same technque on a set of wellgo MG1's once, first one fine, second one rock soild. seems the pressure forced the DU bushing to crack and deform so it no longer spins.

won't be trying that again, alway strip and apply now.
