Hi
After years of being at the mercy of LBS's Ive decided to buy some bits for one of the few jobs I leave to the pros
I want a bearing puller and some drifts to cover the most common races found on my bikes
Hope do a drift kit but I cant really see whats in it and if its transferable to other sizes within reason and I have no idea what kind of puller would do the job
Any ideas very welcome
Im happy to pay for good gear but would rather fork out 10's of Pounds not 100's
Cheers

Most people swear by Park tools
Which races are you thinking of changing? Headsets will easily drift out from above or below with a decent square-edged drift by tapping round in a radial motion, done loads this way. Bottom brackets are all just unscrew, bin and replace.Jens says "Shut up legs !! "

A simple steel drift (rod) will do.
A hotair gun also helps on alloy parts. Evenly warm up the hub or sus-arm (but not enough to bubble the paint). Alloy expands moe than the steel., so it drifts out easily. You can always out the new bearings in the freezer, and before the hub has had time to cool down push the new ones in
works for meRecipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.0
