£2000 cycle scheme

Ok so its new bike time!!!
I am doing another cycle scheme through work and my last payment for my Ellsworth has been made. I have decided that i would like a DH bike. I have a voucher for £2000 whats the best you guys think I could buy for that.
I could go more but the Ellsworth cost me 4k and my other half would go bonkers if I spent that again so I have set a 2k limit!!
Any ideas and links would be appreciated

Must be a hard ride to work, where are you based, in a quarry? ;-)

Not easy to get a new DH bike on cycle to work at this price, but plenty in the sales, and more 'Freeride' oriented bikes like this:

Thats not a bad bike to be fair. im looking at doing the hope 6hr dh at fort william. would be better with triple clamps> my company will allow 10k on a bike but im on a budget this time!!

Triple clamps add some front end stiffness, but again not always easy to find at this money, and may be a lowish end model.

re the wife situation. forgiveness is much easier to obtain than permission.
