Adjusting travel on Tora fork

Hi, I'm a bit peeved off having bought a GT Avalanche 1.0 on Wiggle which was advertised as having 120mm travel Tora's to find that they're only 100mm travel. I'm about to order a replacement spring from TF Tuned to firm up the forks but have been told that the forks I have can be adjusted to 120mm, is this something that's difficult to do? Or is it something I should book it into the shop for?
I'm fairly confident I can swap out the spring easily enough, but I've not been able to find any online guides to adjusting fork travel for coil forks.

Thanks I've alreafy downloaded the manual but I was asking about adjusting the length of travel not taking them apart and putting them back together again.0

Very likely the forks cannot be adjusted. Two reasons: stanchions not long enough, push rod too short.0
-
Thanks Supersonic I emailed Wiggle today and they say it can be adjusted to 120 but think I'll drop it into my lbs and see what they say as they're a rockshox service centre so should be able to help0

The way to check is to take them apart - see if there is an all travel spacer under the head of the pushrod.0
-
And if there is an all travel spacer in there is it just a case of removing it? Do I need to get anything else to go in there?0
-
With older forks you clipped it onto the main spring after removing0

Thanks for the advice its easy enough to get the spring out so will have a go at that tomorrow evening0

Would appreciate some pics when disassembled, have a mate on a budget who would love to increase his tora's to 120mm0

I'll do my best to take Photo's as I go. Am going to give TF Tuned tomorrow and see what they say about it too. So will share any info I get.0

Does the presence of a travel spacer necessarily imply that the travel can be adjusted?
I have a set of Tora 302 SL (solo air) 100mm and there is a 30mm spacer, suggesting that the travel can be extended to 130mm (like the Tora 318). I can see a lot of conflicting information on this and I am tempted to just see what happens if I do remove it.
Can you advise on this?
(sorry for the semi-related thread hijack!)

The mod is probably more than just removing it, it probably need to be put somewhere else, probably above or below the spring.
ETA: that's a lot of probably's0 -
I emailed TF Tuned today, they have said I only need a 120mm spring and that there is a clip on the underside of the spring perch which when removed adjusts the travel to 120mm.
Just need to find out what the spring perch is now!!0 -

Sounds like they are adjustable - but some SL forks are OE and the stanchions are not long enough.0 -
Fantastic, that sounds like it is worth looking into then. I assume that it will be reasonably apparent if the stanchions are too short. I did think they were surprisingly long when I had the fork open recently.
I will report back here in case it is of any interest to anyone!Lapierre Spicy 316 2012

Just had a go at removing the 30mm spacer and it seems to work fine, allowing the air spring to extend 30mm further. All seems ok, will give it a gentle first ride soon.
Also, I have Tora 302 solo air and not SL as I had thought.

Should be fine then! Exactly like my 302.0

Just thought I'd update this thread. I've spoken to the sram technical department who've said that this fork definitely can have its travel extended but its apparently quite difficult to do and involves fitting a new damping unit.
SO basically I'm going to buy a new 100mm coil and make do0
