Im looking at getting a 2.1 inch maxxis advantage rear tyre to go with the 2.35 High Roller I currently have up front. The tyre will mostly be used around the trails at cannock chase (FTD, Monkey Trail etc) but also on the odd trip to llandegla, dalby forest etc. In the folding kevlar version, I have noticed that they do a 60a and a 62a version, with the latter having 120tpi rather than 60. This tyre is lighter than the 60tpi one, but apparently weaker. Am I likely to have issues with ripping, punctures etc, or will the 120tpi one be fine?

Thanks

The 120 tpi tends to wear quicker, I dont think you would have any puncture related issues specifically.
I would just gor the 60 tpi version, unless you are a real weight weenie also they tend to be cheaper.

TPI has nothing to do with wear rates.

it is just the number of threads per inch.

the more threads the finer they have to be but the more likely the tyre will not fail through a small cut.
