SRAM Red FD Braze on to Band-on conversion

Can you tell me if its possible to convert a "Braze-on" FD (speciflcally SRAM Red) to "Band on" just using a front mech clamp like this:

Or is the actual pivot mechanism different? Ive looked on SRAMs website & canf find anything...
