Hi,
I have a kinesis maxlight with panaracer cinder 2.1 tyres.
Would Maxxis Swampthing 2.35/ 2.5 tyres be overkill????
I'm looking for a tyre that will stand its ground in winter time.

Fuck yes!
Get a pair of Bontrager Mud-X, Panaracer Trailraker or Spec Storm Control on there.Trail fun - Transition Bandit
Road - Wilier Izoard Centaur/Cube Agree C62 Disc
Allround - Cotic Solaris0 -
2.3 would be fine. Clearance may be a bit tight for 2.5s though.
Depends what sort of ground you're running on through winter.
Personally, I run Nobby nic 2.35 all year round and they're fine.0 -
Swamp things are heavy. Great for downhill but I wouldn't put them on a light xc bike. Go for the trailrakersTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

if you want better grip I would go down to a 1.9 on the back.0

Thanks for the advice. I've gone for a set of Nobby Nic 2.25s all round.0
