Just bought a lovey mountain bike that came with 175mm crank arms, I previously had 170mm CA on my road bike, I will be using the mountain bike on the road and as a general purpose bike

Is there anypoint of swapping them over for 170's, i could buy a crankset for about 30 quid

Nope you won't notice the difference. Unless you have tiny legs.

You won't notice the difference. It's not a road bike, although I bet you wouldn't notice the difference on a road bike neither.
    Buy beer instead.

  • I went from 175 to 170 just to ease pressure on my knackered knees but didn't notice much difference (apart from a touch more pedal clearance on rocky sections)

I'm 5'8 with 30" inside leg so you should be fine with 175
