Good, after reading the previews and hearing the weather I was worried that my PTP pick was in vain as she's not known as being the most fearless bike handler."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0

Arndt going quickly, too. Vos about 25s down after the first lap. Surprising0 -
-
Pooley now 12 seconds off the lead... :?
Looking good for Arndt though.
I reckon Pooley may be 20–30 seconds down by the finish.0 -
Arndt wins, Pooley 3rd. Good ride considering the flat parcours and the conditions."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0

Oooo, I see trouble, no "Spoiler" in the title!
Weather's shitty over there, could make things a bit of a lottery for the Elite men's race.Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0 -
It was also covered live on Sports Extra and got mentioned in every sports bulletin when I was travelling to work despite recent rants on here that the Beeb don't cover road cycling.0
-
And the BBC headline is "Pooley loses World title" (factually correct), rather than" Pooley wins bronze despite a course unsuited to her strengths". Good on her I say.0
-
To be fair, their headline is slightly more succinct and also puts out the point that she was the defending champion.0
-
OK - to be specific it says "Pooley loses world title in the Rain". But hey, these are the same reporters who report that yet again Mark Cavendish has outsprinted team-mate Renshaw, not realising that's the way it's supposed to be. However, at least cycling's getting more coverage by the Beeb now - be thankful for small mercies I suppose!0

Ha Ha....funnily enough I haven't been on twitter all day. JV must read Bikeradar!"I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
Did anyone see Teutenberg on the start ramp.
Camelback clearly strapped to her chest. Could even see the hose.
I thought these were banned.0 -
Great ride from Julia Shaw too!If everything's under control, you're obviously not going fast enough.0
-
Go Emma! If she is in such form as to produce a ride like that, she has to be scary good for the Road Race. The older I get the faster I was0

I think the course is too flat for her to have a chance in the road race. More likely that Cooke or Armitstead will be the protected rider."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
Pooley said in her interview that she expects to ride for Armitstead, so I think you are right.0
