Hello,

I'm looking to get minor damage repaired on my bike like stone chips to the carbon and small scratches. Where can I get this done for my Specialized bike? I would like to go to the dealer but don't think I can so I'm not sure who to turn to for this one.

Thanks,
Carl

You can either DIY with touch-up paint / clear lacquer or get the frame resprayed. Cost for the latter will be in the region of £150 plus depending on the complexity of the finish / transfers etc.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Ok, well I'm putting it on the insurance anyway to get it done properly.

Does anyone know any good places around the M25?

    Thanks,
    Carl :)

getting a full respray seems a bit OTT for a few stone chips - why bother...?

The most helpful thing I can suggest is simply not to worry about it and carry on riding...

+1 you bought it to ride not look at. It's not like the sponsors are at the side of the road watching you.

  • Nail varnish for small chips.

You have insurance that pays out for paint chips?

...and presumably an excess to pay on any claim made?
  • No excess and I am getting parts repaired on the bike if I feel they need repairing? I don't see the problem.

I guess I'm just confused as to why your insurance would pay out for minor damage like that - especially without any excess.
