How much should I sell my bike for?

Hi all,

I inherited a great road bike, spec below. Its 57cm and the reach is too long for me. I'm thinking of selling either the frame and putting all the components on another frame or just selling the whole thing.

I think I'm going to replace it with a bike from Ribble but I don't want to be without a bike so I need to know roughly how much it will sell for on ebay so that I can pre order. The frame was £1500 about 6 or 7 years ago and total bike £2500.

Any ideas of how much you think I will get for the frame alone or complete bike would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

Assuming it's tidy, I'd say it should reach £1400-1500 but e-bay can be a funny thing. A guy on here was trying to sell a newish CAAD10 frame. IIRC, he dropped it down to just over 300 plus postage on here and still no takers. It was already way past that on ebay with a few days to go. I missed what it finally went for.

    My valuation is based on:

    - Colnago frame CT2 H2, colnago carbon forks. £1000
    - Wheels: mavic elite ksyrium £200 (£400 new)
    - Colnago carbon fibre seat post - part of frameset
    - Fi'zi:k twin flex, aliante seat - £ 30
    - Handelbars: Forged lite Carbon ITM - £ 30
    - Shimano Ultegra groupset - £200 (£500 new)
    - Keo Sprint pedals - £20
  • A CT2 frameset went for $1600 (so just over £1000) on Ebay recently, and a complete bike with a Record groupset is on there at the moment. He's asking €2000 on a buy-it-now, so it might be worth watching to see if it sells.

If it was me I'd just sell the frame and try and find another Colnago in your size. The titanium frames are rare but Masters (steel), Dreams (aluminium) and C40s (carbon) come up on Ebay quite often.
