Barrel adjuster problem on front brake
Whilst fitting a new front wheel, I forgot that the brake qr was not closed and over adjusted the barrel adjuster so that the thread disappeared. I have adjusted the brakes by pulling the cable through whilst holding the brakes to the rim, however the barrel adjuster does not do anything so I am unable to make fine adjustment. The brake pads seem perfectly aligned and the brakes work very well, but I would not mind being able to use the barrel adjuster when required, so does anybody have any idea what might of happened to it?

It is still there, don't worry!
There are 4 ridges on the part at the top of the adjuster (the part that the cable housing drops into). These ridges need to mate with 4 corresponding slots in the plastic barrel that you turn with your fingers. If you've turned it all the way out, then the ridges won't be engaged with the slots and it won't screw back in when you turn it clockwise.
Just re-engage the ridges and turn it clockwise a few turns to screw it back in. You may wish to release the cable clamp first.- - - - - - - - - -
