bull horn brakes/gears

Hi folks,
Looking into bullhorn bars on my bike, but hate the bar end shifters, and since there are no specific brake/gear lever products out there for bullhorns, I was wondering if anyone has fitted standard brake/gear levers to bullhorns?
Anything I should be aware of? Is there a reason why you dont see more people with this setup? comfort?
Cheers,
TBK

Main issue would be cable routing I suspect. The STI/Double Tap/Ergo shifters all have two cables from each shifter, and with bullhorn bars, the cable exit points from the shifters won't be in a usable spot to set up properly.
Get bar end brake levers (like TT bike ones) and use downtube shifters instead.Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0 -
My set-up albeit with out shifters on my SS cost under £20 ITM Wing bars £7 and Promax brake levers £13. I would have done this sooner but always found bars with a standard size, not teh O/S I needed.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

It can work fine but does need a bit of bodging, works well with the sti's that have non-bar routed gear lines. Run a noodle for the brake line and file a hole into the shifter body/bars to smooth out the routing.0
