What bike is this?

I'm trying to identify what brand/model this particular bike may be. Apologies for the poor image quality. Is this a GT? If so, which model could it be? Thanks in advance!

Have GT ever made a y-framed URT (if that's what it is)? Looks mostly like a BSO, or something pretty old.

Why are you trying to identify that bike from such a low quality image?
It's clearly a still taken from cctv footage, if it's your bike you'd have some idea what it is, and it's unlikely you saw the above image and thought "that looks good, I want one of them".

The bloke in this CCTV image is linked to a series of bike thefts in area I work. He's managed to dispose of this bike, so what I'm trying to do is identify the make and model. With that info I can check the local second hand shops to see if it's been traded in, as well as Ebay and Gumtree. I can also cross-reference the crime database for reports of similar thefts. Being able to link this guy to more than one theft (we have another that led us to this CCTV footage) will be very useful indeed.

Furthermore, if I can rule out it being a GT, as he claimed when I interviewed him, it gives me a greater chance of charging him for one or both of the thefts.

its a cheap nasty bike from a supermarket or the likes.
they all have very simular frame shapes and even the generic fork on it is un named.
But 100% not a GT.

A quick google image search would suggest it could be a slightly older (2003-ish) GT I-Drive.

Not exaclty right, but the photo is too poor to say either way for sure.

That's no i-Drive in the first photo. It's a BSO, look at the rear triangle and forks. Cheap supermarket special

Yeah, it's the upright bar on the rear triangle that identifies it as a cheap generic frame. I did think the toptube looked a little bit Specialized FSR (circa late 90s) initially though.

+1 for a supermarket bike, the long headtube and high rise stem plus that funny link bar between the headtube and bottom bracket.

Just proves how thick the guy is, getting nailed for a £50 bike. If you must steal things at least do your homework first. I hope you send him where bigger boys will 'mess' with him.
