Sorry, but GEARS!!
Got a few problems with my gears, or atleast I think I have!
I have SRAM Rival on my ribble, the issue I have is when im on the smaller front chainring if i shift to the 2 smaller rear cogs the noise is horrid! clonk clonk grind grind. The exact opposite can be said for the larger front, when trying to shift to the one of the 2 larger rears the same noise?
Probably something simple, but im only just starting out so any advice would be helpfull. Cheers people

this is called cross-chaining
basically, you don't want to use those combinations
it causes extra stress, wear, and as you've found, noisemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Oh ok, so get up and down the gears more and stay in the 'meat' of them?0

generally, just avoid the two extremes that you've discovered
usually you'll be on the big ring on the flat
when you are climbing, shift to the smaller front ring before reaching the point where you'd be on the big front and largest 2-3 rear sprocketsmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0
