The Rebels Breach The First Gate

Well, Libya, not the best really.
But the rebels have suddenly come from virtually no-where to breaching Gadaffi's compound. OK, a bit of help from NATO, but this last few days took me by surprise.
It seems obvious that Gadaffi will not remain in power, so why cling on, why be so sadistic and keep fighting when the cause is hopeless,........ or is it.
Always though of Gadaffi as a little misguided rather than an outright evil dictator.

Gadaffi has no grip on reality whatsoever.
