New Bike Ride Dimensions

I am currently trying to set up my existing bike fit recommendations from my old bike to my new bike without much luck. Everytime I think I have nailed it the subsequent ride just doesn't feel right and it's getting to the point where I'm ready to ride off a cliff (in an very uncomfy position obviously). I've been using the BB as a starting point but it's hollow and everything seems to move by 5mm depending on where I hold the level and tape measure.

Does anybody have any fool proof tips on how to transpose the dimensions from one to another?

Don't get anal about bikefit recommendations... each of us has muscles developed to work better in a certain positions... there isn't such a thing as a standard that fits all... there are guidances and common sense does the rest. I would say that 5 mm is well within tolerance.

I ride three different bikes with very different riding positions and measurments... I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure which one is my best ride in terms of comfort... even for long rides of over 70 miles

I've been trying to get this into my head but I rode for 5-6 years with this fit and it is proper frustrating when I can't seem to replicate it on the new bike. I think the main problem is going from old Shimano Ultegra to Campag ergo hoods, quite a different feel.

Well why don't yuo use the ground as a datum then? But make sure it's a level piece before you start (using your level and a length of timber as a straight-edge).
