I am looking for a new baselayer for hiking (all weather) and cycling (to wear when its cold), and I have found 4 baselayers, however I cannot find any reviews for the On-one or Planet X 190gm (links below) - has anyone heard good things about them? Both are £20

My other option is a baselayer from wiggle which is near double the price (£38 for 150gm and £45 for 190gm).

Thanks in advance :D

I've got a couple of the On-One ones and they're great but I was stupid enough not to wait for them to be discounted. I paid full price! I'm pi*ssed off but they're still great.

The on-one and planet X baselayers look the same don't they? (other than colour!) Just I'm a medium and On-one is £46 for medium, £20 for all other sizes, and the planet X is £20 for all sizes!

I got the on-one merino base layers too in the sale.....100% merino wool is 100% merino wool! I would highly recommend them, even after a full weekends riding in the peaks they did not smell :D

    Why pay more!?

They seem pretty good, and the price is better so i think i'll go for the Planet X baselayer - looks identical to the on-one baselayer :D thanks 8)
  • I have an Endura BaaBaa and a dhb 190 zip-neck, both of which I purchased a couple of years ago. I'm probably more sensitive than most, but I find the Endura a little bit itchy. No such problems with the dhb, so, for me at leat, not all merino is the same. I also much prefer the cut of the dhb (although I usually like Endura stuff).

The on-one prices seem fantastic, though, and I'm tempted to get one myself. Is anyone able to compare the feel and cut of one with Endura and/or dhb?

Thanks for this. I just bought one for my mum. I also found the Endura one itchy.

I went for a Planet X s/s 150gm but wouldn't recommend it. Fit was baggy and mine stinks like a old wet dog after a ride! Weird thing is, the PX base layer also smells straight out of the washing machine :?

Also have a Endura Baa Baa l/s and a DHB zip neck, both of which are superb and don't smell in the slightest when wet, so maybe I just got a dud?

oh, and for the benefit of CapriciousZephyr, I also find the BaaBaa itchier than the DHB 190 zipneck...!

I got a cheapo from on-one, its ok. Not a patch on the icebreaker it replaced, but it is about a third of the price. The icebreaker took 3 years to fall apart and i'd worn it several hundred times by then.
