None of them are downhill bikes, but depends what you mean by downhill. Not sure what a g8 build is either!
Can you see the bikes and have a sit of them? All of them are pretty good value for trail riding, it will come down to fit and feel. The Boardman though is the better value.0 -
Have sat all three and the boardman and cube feel very simliar.mate told me if you had to build each one individual the boardman would cost the most to build so as u say best value for what i want.0

like the fact the boardman only weighs 27.7lbs which is 1 lbs lighter than the cube.
forks look better on the bm as well, anyone on here have the bm comp and what the forks are like or the rock shox dart 3?0 -
Could you try that in English please?

Hi,
I have a mate with the cube and used to work as a mechanic at Halfords so know a thing or two about the Boardman. This is my opinion/Advice on them both.
Boardman - Good well spec'd bike with a frame/forks worthy of upgrading later. Only thing that I found on the lower/mid range boardmans are the wheel bearings. It was a regular thing to have to replace them at six week service or at least tighten the cones. This really isn't a massive problem and it is a very good bike. oh and choose your store wisely!
Cube - Nice looking bike that works well out of the box. Not gonna set the world alight as it is quite heavy but it rides well and my mate has never bothered with his services as its never really needed it. He uses it to commute on but other than a bit of cable fettling its been great. Only thing I would say is invest in some frame protection pads. The matt paint is very easy to scratch and rubs easily. within a few weeks his had left a considerable mark on the head tube.
Have you also considered the Carrera fury and the Voodoo? Both good bikes also.0
