Campag shifter repair

On my right hand Veloce 10 speed shifter I can only push the shift lever over to shift up, when I pull the thumb shift lever up. I am guessing some spring that pulls the thumbshift up far enough has broken.

Anybody else had this, and can advise what bits inside might be the cause?

    I don't understand... the problem is the thumb shifter does not shift?

    There is a series of reasons for that to happen, not necessarily being broken... is the cable routed correctly or has it gone out of the groove? Is the rubber hood in the correct place? Is the cable free to route inside the outer cable, is it jammed somewhere? I suggest you take it off and put it back on and if the problem persists, then yes, probably some spring or inner mechanism is jammed. Taking it to parts is not an easy job, but there are videos around to guide you in the process. Campagnolo spares can be ordered, but they don't necessarily come quickly or cheap as Wiggle & Co. don't stock them... in the case of Veloce one has to weigh out the fact that new shifters can be found for 70-80 pounds.

    Thumbshift is OK, lever behind brake lever wont go across unless I pull the thumbshift fully up first. Cabling looks OK and is routed correctly etc.
